The buffering principle of polyurethane
Polyurethane is an excellent buffer material, and its buffering principle is based on its unique molecular structure. Polyurethane molecules contain a large number of amino ester groups, which endow the material with good flexibility and elasticity. When subjected to external impact, polyurethane molecular chains can flexibly stretch and twist, converting the impact energy into heat energy through friction and internal friction between molecules, thereby achieving a buffering effect.
This energy conversion mechanism makes polyurethane excellent in absorbing impact energy. For example, in the sole of sports shoes, the polyurethane cushioning layer can effectively absorb the impact force generated by walking or running, reduce the pressure on the feet and joints, and provide good resilience to assist walking and exercise.
Performance characteristics of polyurethane
Polyurethane has high strength and hardness while maintaining elasticity. Compared with rubber, it can withstand greater loads at the same hardness, making it suitable for some buffering situations that require higher load-bearing capacity. In the buffering support of industrial equipment, polyurethane buffering pads can withstand the weight of heavier equipment and provide good buffering effect when the equipment generates vibration or is impacted during operation.
Polyurethane also has excellent wear resistance and chemical corrosion resistance. In some harsh working environments, such as mining, chemical and other industries, polyurethane buffers can work stably for a long time and are not easily corroded by wear and chemical substances. For example, in the buffering components of mining transportation equipment, polyurethane greatly extends the service life of the equipment due to its wear resistance and corrosion resistance.
